The case manager

The absence case manager manages the absence process on behalf of the employer. This ensures that all steps of the Gatekeeper Act are taken on time and provides contact between employee, company doctor and employer.


The absence case manager acts on the basis of non-medical information. The company doctor advises and the case manager translates the advice into concrete steps for employer and employee.


The case manager also advises on the Gatekeeper Improvement Act.


The task delegation case manager works under the responsibility and supervision of the company doctor. Under strict conditions, the task delegation case manager does have more insight into an employee's (medical) situation.

Tasks:

• The first contact person after a sick call who filters whether contact with the company doctor is necessary.

• The task delegation case manager relieves the company doctor.
