As a follow-up to the absence management training, Square-Thinking offers you the opportunity to delve deeper into the subject of absence in an interactive way. We will discuss it together.

Conducting absence interviews

Conducting a sick leave interview isnt a standard conversation for  many managers. It remains tense. What are you allowed to ask? What are you not allowed to say, why does an employee react the way he/she does now?

Am I going to teach you how to effectively conduct an absence interview? No! Because what is an effective absenteeism conversation, when is it effective and for whom?

We first look for the bottlenecks in conducting a conversation. Where does a manager experience (individual) resistance from himself or from the other? How do you create situations in a conversation to clearly identify the reason and the current status of an absenteeism process for both and make expectations concrete. The effect is different for every manager, because every company is different, every department is different and fortunately we are all different.

Every manager can send in 1 to 2 anonymous cases prior to the training, stating: the reason, the current status of the case, the actual outcome of the discussions and the effect on the employer/employee relationship.

Duration: 6 hours (incl. case preparation)

  • Online training, minimum 2 and maximum 6 persons.
  • On-site training, minimum 2 and maximum 8 persons.
